"First and foremost, I wrote this book to heal my inner child. As a kid and even in my teens, I always got bullied because I was overweight. I have carried much of the self-doubt of an imperfect body until very late into my adult life, but not without balancing that unnecessary influence with self-confidence and a feeling of self-worth, for which I only have books to give thanks to. Therefore, I’ve created ‘Well-Rounded’. The poem is a liberating declaration of love for food, but also an alarm mechanism that goes off when health is in danger. I have poured my heart into it for the world to notice there is more than meets the eye at every size, regardless of a number on a scale."
